Students are figuring out how to distribute the #calliekoteam wealth of $100,00 that reflects the current wealth inequality of the United States.
Here are some highlights for the week:
- The Stewardship Project took another big leap as students found out their starting wealth. Students' wealth was distributed randomly through a system where students each chose a card, were able to trade cards and then learned how much wealth was associated with that card.
- Students also learned that there will be a "Last name Income Inequality" factor of 78%. Students with last name from A - L will earn 78% that of students with last name from M - Z. This is to reflect the gender income inequality as mentioned in the US Census report (page 10 of the report).
- Students took an assessment in Math and Humanities in part to help High Tech Middle Chula Vista see where our students are at and how best we can help them.
- In Science, students learned about the characteristics of life to get them ready for the science portion of their Rituals Revealed project.
